EarthSavers accepts the following materials for recycling pickup in Nashville. Every item we collect is delivered to a certified materials recovery facility and genuinely recycled — none of it goes to a landfill.
Paper & Cardboard
Accepted: Mail, newspaper, magazines, phone books, cardboard, books, journals, cereal/food boxes.
Not accepted: Paper towels, soiled pizza boxes, Tyvek mailers, TetraPack cartons, food or oil contaminated paper, facial and toilet tissue.
How to prepare: Break down cardboard along seams, fold to 3’x3′ or smaller. Place shredded paper in a plastic bag, tied closed.
Plastics & Metal Cans
Accepted: Plastic containers with lids and labels bearing the recycle logo (numbers 1-7). Aluminum cans.
Not accepted: Plastics without the recycle logo. All plastic bags, straps, bubble mailers, and film — even if they have a recycle triangle.
How to prepare: Empty and rinse. Labels can stay. Remove and recycle lids separately. Release remaining pressure from aerosol cans.
Glass Bottles & Jars
Accepted: All colors of bottles and jars with lids and labels.
Not accepted: Light bulbs, crystal, ceramics, mirrors, window and plate glass.
How to prepare: Empty and rinse. Bag all glass together in a puncture-resistant bag, tie closed, and place on top of other recyclables in the cart. Max 30 gallons per pickup.
